While the RoboForm Editor window looks more modern, the actual credential-organization system is still a mess of paths and folders that's more confusing than the streamlined look of most other managers, such as Myki or 1Password. RoboForm Everywhere's desktop application has recently undergone some minor cosmetic changes. That’s not many import options when you consider that LastPass imports from more than 30 competing products. If you're coming from a different password manager, you'll have to export your data to a CSV file and import it into RoboForm. RoboForm can also import passwords from several other password managers: 1Password, Bitwarden, Dashlane, Enpass, KeePassX, KeePass, Keeper, LastPass, LogMeOnce, NordPass, Norton Password Manager, Password Boss, Sticky Password, True Key, and Zoho Vault. RoboForm can import passwords from Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera. Most modern browsers offer to handle your password management, but they're less secure than a password manager, so you’ll want to import passwords saved in your browser’s manager to RoboForm. When you’re done installing the software, RoboForm presents you with a webpage full of video tutorials to walk you through the password management process. The Chrome extension did not automatically install for me, but it was easy enough to download and install it from the Chrome Web Store. There are also extensions for Chromium-based browsers and Firefox-based browsers. Windows desktop installation is quick and simple, and the program adds extensions to Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera. To get started with the app, you create a RoboForm account online from the RoboForm site. There are totally free password managers such as Myki, too. On the other end of things, Zoho Vault is less expensive than both RoboForm Everywhere and Dashlane at just $12 per year for the Standard plan. As of the time of writing, a 3-year subscription came with a 15% discount, while a 5-year subscription offered savings amounting to 25% off the base price.By contrast, it costs a lot more to unlock unlimited password storage and secure notes with Dashlane, which is $59.99 per year. As is common, the longer you commit, the lower the price will be. RoboForm Business is available in four packages, the prices for which vary depending on the number of users as well as the length of the subscription. The biggest disadvantage of the free version is that you won't be able to synchronize across your devices. One nice feature of the free version is that the number of data sets is unlimited, making it possible to use the software as a full program without having to pay. In contrast to the free version, "Everywhere" subscribers can look forward to cross-device synchronization, cloud backups, 2FA, and folder sharing. "Everywhere" is for individuals, while "Family" allows for the creation of up to five RoboForm accounts. RoboForm is available at two different rates for private users (in addition to the free version). This consistency makes navigation between categories easy, however, it isn't possible to adjust individual categories. The folder structure you create for logins is also applied to other sub-folders such as those for bookmarks, contacts, and IDs. You can create sub-folders in each category and move individual entries around by dragging and dropping them, making it possible to easily manage your sensitive information to your exact specifications. To the left, you'll find the general categories, folders in the middle, and individual data sets on the right.įolder management is very similar to Windows Explorer, and as such, intuitive and very easy to get a hang of. Similar to almost all of its competitors, RoboForm utilizes a three-column layout, lending the service's interface a good structure. There's also a web dashboard that is somewhat sleeker than the desktop client. Not Exactly a Cutting-Edge RobotĪs is the case with plenty of password managers, RoboForm's user interface is also spread across multiple components, namely, its desktop version and browser extension. On top of that, imports were very reliable. There isn't much to complain about so far as setting up RoboForm is concerned: Installation is smooth, the first steps are intuitive, and the program is easy to get a feel for without babying more experienced users.
